"I am passionate about Charity and work that makes an impact in society. It's in my blood! We need to bridge the education gap within this industry, to develop skills and educate and provide employment opportunities with our partners within Restaurants, Wine Farms, Guest Houses and Hotels. Giving South Africans the opportunity to an internationally recognised education is such an amazing opportunity. This project model will be developed for other towns within South Africa if we can make a success of the Academy in Franschhoek."

Tarryn Corlett's passion for the NGO sector started an early age, after she lost her brother to leukaemia in 2000. Her family started The Sunflower Fund, a National organisation whose main objective was to raise the necessary funds to increasing the number of donors on the South African Bone Marrow Registry.

After completing her studies at Stellenbosch University, majoring in psychology and sociology, Tarryn joined the Sunflower team as their National Marketing and PR Manager.
A few years later and after completing a business management course on top of various other fundraising courses, running operations, Tarryn was later promoted to CEO at the age of 29.

Tarryn, raised millions for the fund through her funding proposal applications, retail projects, media and marketing initiatives and so much more.

In 2015, Tarryn decided to embark on a new journey in Australia and worked for a media and advertising company in Sydney for a year. Upon her return to SA in Sept 2016, she wanted to continue her involvement with NGOs and when she heard about the Hospitality Academy concept and the fact that our tertiary education systems were under pressure, she jumped at the opportunity to assist with all the necessary research and registrations. Once these are complete, Tarryn acting as a Trustee, will be actively assisting with fundraising side of the Trust to ensure its continuity and success.
