Despite a torrid year for the 2020 Academy students and staff, 24 out of 25 students graduated at a ceremony in April held at the Franschhoek Cellar.

Sandstone House, Clive and Joanna Venning’s majestic home was the venue for the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy’s elegant fundraising soiree “A Night at the Opera”.

Since the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy –which provides hospitality training to previously disadvantaged youth - was established some four years ago, Jean Philippe (JP) Colmant and his team have been consistent and highly valued supporters.

This year we selected 20 high quality students. A good understanding of the hospitality industry, a positive attitude and are disciplined, punctual and eager to learn.

On the 28th November the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy held its second large fundraiser of 2021 at the beautiful Haute Cabriere Estate. La Soiree Classique entertained 55 guests to a wonderful evening of fine food and operatic music.
